are seeking applications for the position of a
Full or Associate Professor,
Head of the Division of Infectious Diseases
CHARGE: This is a joint University Hospital and Faculty position as Head of the Division of Infectious Diseases, including a part-time appointment as professor. The position is attached to the Hospital and Academic Departments of Medicine.
The candidate should have an extensive clinical experience in infectious diseases as well as recognized management, communication and leadership qualities, to lead a university clinical division with a strong clinical activity of intra-hospital and outpatient consultations. Through his/her action, the candidate will supervise, organize and develop the activity within his/her division by strengthening the links between the different fields of competence such as bacteriology, virology, transplantation and HIV infections. Strong links will also have to be maintained with the paediatric infectious disease unit, the Infection Prevention and Control division and the Tropical and Humanitarian Medicine division, as well as with the other HUG services.
The ability to lead high-level research in the field of infectious diseases is required, as well as proven mentoring, team management and teaching skills at the pre-graduate and post-graduate levels.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Doctorate in Medicine and specialization in infectious diseases or equivalent qualifications.
Good knowledge of French
Relevant experience in research supervision and teaching.
Publications in major international peer-reviewed journals.
